One Voice. A Stronger Texas.
October 6, 2026 | Texas
For years, Texas was considered one of the most challenging states in which to operate a skilled nursing facility. A fragmented provider community, inadequate reimbursement, and a difficult regulatory environment made meaningful progress difficult. Today, Texas has a much different story to tell.
The Texas Nursing Home Coalition now represents 865 of approximately 1,000 for-profit nursing facilities, bringing providers together with one voice and a shared purpose. That unity has helped advance QIPP, secure meaningful Medicaid funding increases, and foster a more collaborative relationship between providers and regulatory agencies.
Nexion Health has been proud to be part of that journey. Our own Meera Riner, COO, took on the cause of quality for Texas, working alongside industry leaders and regulatory partners to help build a bridge focused on communication, education, accountability, and better outcomes for residents.
That collaboration is producing results. According to Park Place, Texas reduced Immediate Jeopardy citations by 63% in just two years—from 923 in 2024 to 337 in fiscal year 2026.
Park Place recently highlighted the Texas story and the leaders who helped drive this transformation. We invite you to watch the featured videos and see what can happen when an industry comes together with one voice.
