Gwen Rubell Memorial Scholarship Application

The Gwen Rubbell Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the legacy of Gwen Rubbell, a cherished member of the Nexion Health family. Gwen was a dedicated nurse and former Director of Nursing at Duncanville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Duncanville, Texas. A fearless leader and passionate advocate for her residents, she was also a constant source of encouragement for her coworkers. Gwen’s love, compassion, and selflessness inspired everyone around her to be their best. This scholarship serves as a tribute to her remarkable impact and enduring spirit.

The Nexion Health Foundation (the “Foundation”) annually grants two (2) scholarships (up to $5,000) to Nexion Associates who are enrolled in an accredited nursing education program for BSN or MSN, carry a minimum of 6+ credits per semester, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B), demonstrate commitment to, and potential for, leadership in nursing, and demonstrate ongoing involvement in community service. Nexion Associates are eligible to apply on the first of the month following twelve (12) months of consecutive full-time employment.

To apply, complete and submit this application form (attach additional pages, if necessary), along with an Original Essay, two signed and dated Letters of Recommendation, and official transcript(s) from the institution(s) demonstrating the minimum cumulative GPA. Please see below for further requirements. Completed applications must be submitted by March 31 st. Scholarships are awarded based on the decision of the Foundation Board of Directors and are subject to additional requirements in the Foundation Guidelines.

The Foundation seeks to improve the lives of those who live and work in the communities served by Nexion Health facilities through a variety of financial assistance and gift-giving programs. The Foundation is dedicated to addressing the needs of non-profit organizations and charities that serve the elderly and disabled. The Foundation also funds a variety of programs designed to enrich the lives of Nexion Associates who demonstrate a commitment to long term care. All funding will be determined on a case-by-case basis and approved by the Foundation Board.
