We believe the Nexion culture is worth bragging about, and are very proud and excited to share our culture story.
Our key leaders have been part of the Nexion family for 20 years or more. Our sustained leadership enables us to stay connected with our associates and empower them to move forward together toward a common purpose. How do we do this? We connect our associates’ work to Nexion’s purpose and goals and show them how they are making a difference.
A very important part of our culture is Nexion’s intentional focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our efforts are focused on educating our leaders and associates about bias, indifference, and injustice, and inspiring each of us to take a stand that puts human respect and well-being first. Our more than 75 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force volunteers are charged with guiding us through the process of identifying, communicating, and deploying actions and resources to meet the needs within the Nexion family and the communities we serve. Through these actions, we believe we will sustain an environment that helps every associate feel they can be their most authentic self at work, every day, regardless of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. We believe if we open our hearts and minds to diversity, equity and inclusion, and nurture each unique, individual associate, we will become an even stronger and better healthcare company.
We are very proud of our Nexion family. We care deeply about our associates, and we pridefully share their successes and we tell them often how much we appreciate them. Here are some of the ways we show our appreciation.
Our Heart of Nexion program recognizes and rewards one associate each quarter for their exceptional work that reflects “going above and beyond.” This award is based on peer nominations, and each nominee is also recognized and rewarded for their outstanding work. We offer Education Advancement Programs that provide an opportunity for us to reward our care teams who increase their knowledge, skills and pay through completion of 1-2 levels of job-specific training.
Another way we show appreciation to our associates is through the Nexion Foundation which makes financial contributions that support the educational needs of our associates and their immediate family members. Over the past 17 years, the Foundation has generously provided emergency relief funds for shelter, medical attention, clothing, and food to many of our associates who have suffered a loss due to natural disasters or other major unforeseen life circumstances. The Foundation also makes financial contributions to organizations that promote the health and well-being of elderly and disabled citizens.
Through our Education Scholarship Program, each year the Foundation awards a number of $1,000 scholarships to the dependent children of Nexion associates who attend an accredited college or vocational school with a concentration in a healthcare or elder care profession. We believe encouraging healthcare careers and contributing to the education of our associates’ children both complements and strengthens our culture.
The health and well-being of our team matters to us–it’s part of our culture. That’s why we offer our associates a full suite of benefits including tuition reimbursement, a 401(k) Plan, Flexible Spending Accounts, free EAP and mental health/wellbeing services, as well as medical/dental/vision, and more. We invite you to experience the Nexion culture and fulfill your life’s purpose with us.
